The US Forest Service recently issued a lengthy list of projects it plans to begin nationwide in 2021 which are designed to improve recreation on National Forests. As discussed in our prior article, the funding for the projects was provided by the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA). The projects include road ad trail improvements as well as repairs and upgrades for campgrounds and other recreation sites. The projects are listed by State, which allows the public to locate any projects that may be near them. The Forest Service will be funding additional projects in 2022-2024. If you are interested in trying to have a particular project on a National Forest added to the future lists, we recommend you contact the Forest Supervisor.
