The National Park Service recently issued a notice regarding its relatively new leasing program.  Under its leasing program, NPS is able to authorize operations on NPS land that could appear similar to concessions, but which are not eligible for the concession program.  The leasing program allows an entity to lease government buildings and pay fair market value rent.  The fees from the leases can be used for park infrastructure needs as well as for the costs of the leasing program itself.

In the notice, NPS estimated that it will be issuing 10 requests for proposals related to simple leases and 10 requests for proposals related to complex leases each year.  NPS further estimated that the time needed to respond to the requests would be between 8-40 hours.
